How the Bail Bonding Process Works
Most people have no idea what the process is to get a friend or family member out of jail. There are five basic steps to get someone bailed out of jail using AAOK’s bail bonding services.
PLEASE HAVE PATIENCE!
Many times detention facilities are very slow in processing and often have their telephone line overloaded with calls.
Step One: Contacting a Bail Bond Agent
Contact AAOK Bail Bonding Co. anytime or choose from our list of Agents that can accommodate you with your preferred language. You will find a list of our agents on our Contact page.
We will need the following information from you to begin the process:
- Defendant’s Full Name
- Defendant’s Date of Birth
- What is the Arresting Agency’s Name
- Defendant’s Charge(s)
- Bail Amount of Defendant (if applicable)
- Your agent will also require some other basic information about the defendant’s history, including where they work, previous arrests, residency information, etcetera. In addition to some information about you and/or the co-signer.
Step Two: Contacting The Jail
We contact the jail facility and determine the exact bail information.
Step Three: Meeting at our Office
We will call you back to arrange a time for you to come into our office to fill out the necessary paperwork.
Step Four: Bond Fee Payment
You and/or the co-signer provide AAOK Bail Bonding with a percentage of the total bail amount after all the paperwork is completed. This is known as the “BOND FEE” and is typically 12% for bonds under $10,000 and 15% for bonds over $10,000.
Step Five: Collateral Requirements
AAOK Bail Bonding Co. may require a co-signer to put up additional collateral on top of the “BOND FEE” based on the information provided by you. Please keep in mind that you will get back the collateral only after the Defendant’s case is completely settled.
